CHILD'S DREAM WEEKEND
     On June 5th & 6th of 2010 the West End Fire & Rescue Company held it's 13th annual Child's Dream Weekend.  This program enabled 20 area children from the ages of 11 to 13, to experience firefighting first hand.  Each participant was issued safety equipment, uniforms and an accountability tag.  They learned first hand how to use firefighting and rescue equipment, much of the weekend was hands on exercises.  At the end of the weekend, awards were given out to everyone.  This was an excellent opportunity for many children in our community to experience what it is like to be a firefighter or officer in a local fire company.  For more information on this program or future enrollment for this weekend, please contact Fire Chief Mark Cleck.  Thank you to everyone who participated or contributed in some way to make this program a success.
