1st Due Box Alarm with Heavy Fire Upon Arrival
June 2, 2010- At 0221 hours, WEFR crews were awakened by a 1st due box alarm for a reported garage on fire in the 3400 block of Roxbury Rd.  Engine 15-1, 15-2, and Rescue Squad 15 responded on the box.  Asst. Chief 15 responded as Duty 15 and immediately requested an operations channel due to a glow in the sky.  Duty 15 arrived on the scene and reported a 2 story woodframe, detached garage fully involved upon arrival with a corrected address of 3494 Roxbury Rd.  He immediately established Command 15 and ordered Engine 15-1 to spilt lay back the lane.  He then ordered the next in engine, Engine 2-52, to complete the spit lay to a nearby hydrant.  Upon confirmation of no exposure problems and an established water supply, Command 15 quickly held the box to Engine 15-1, 15-2, 2-52, Rescue Squad 15, and Truck 53.  Crews had the fire knocked down in just under an hour and remained on the scene doing extensive overhaul.  Command then returned all units at 0405 hours.  Engine 15-1, 15-2, and the Rescue Squad returned to service.

5th Wheel Camper on Fire on the "I"
June 8, 2010- Engine Companies 7 and 15 along with Rescue Squads 15 and 41 were alerted for the pick-up truck on fire in the area of mile marker 21, northbound, on Interstate 81.  Engine company 7 arrived to find one pick-up truck fully involved hauling a 5th wheel camper with the fire already extending to the camper.  E15-1 arrived and assisted company 7 and station 4 crews with extinguishment and overhaul.  Company 15 returned to service upon being released by Command 7

One Entrapped on Rowe Run Rd
June 11, 2010- Engine company 15, Rescue Squad 15, and EMS were alerted to the 2800 block of Rowe Run Rd for one overturned with entrapment.  Rescue Squad 15 arrived to confirm they had one auto overturned with entrapment.  The Squad crew immediately went to work stabilizing the vehicle and extricating the patient.  Once extricated, they assisted EMS with packaging of the patient for transport.  Company 15 units then returned to service with fire police remaining on the scene.

One Overturned on Shippensburg Rd
June 13, 2010- Engine Company 51, Rescue Squad 15, and EMS were alerted to the 500 block of Shippensburg Rd, in Hopewell township, for an auto accident in the area of the infamous "S" turns.  Units arrived to find one auto overturned, down an embankment.  Upon further investigation, no patients were found in or around the vehicle.  Command 51 then released Rescue Squad 15 and the crew returned to service.

Tractor Trailer on Fire on the "I"
June 19, 2010- At 0240 hours, Engine Companies 15 and 7 along with Rescue Squads 15 and 41 were alerted for the tractor trailer on fire in the area of mile marker 23, southbound, on Interstate 81.  E15-1 arrived to find the rear axles of the trailer on fire with extension into the contents of the trailer.  Crews quickly placed an attack line in service and extinguished the exterior fire while crews opened the trailer up.  Crews then extinguished the fire within the trailer and began to overhaul.  Command 15 held the assignment to company 15 units.  Company 15 later returned to service

MVA at Thornwood and Orrstown Roads
June 21, 2010- Engine Company 15, Rescue Squad 15, and EMS were alerted for an auto accident at the intersection of Orrstown Rd and Thornwood Rd.  E15-1 and Rescue Squad 15 responded on the run and arrived to find one jeep overturned in the middle of the road and one auto into a nearby field.  Upon investigation, crews found one of drivers to be deceased while the other had only minor injuries.  EMS crews attended to the minor injuries while WEFR's crew checked for hazards.  Company 15 units remained on the scene until the completion of the State Police's accident scene investigation.

Another MVA at Thornwood and Orrstown Roads
June 24, 2010- For the second time in 3 days, Engine Company 15, Rescue Squad 15, and EMS were alerted for an auto accident at the intersection of Orrstown Rd and Thornwood Rd.  E15-1 and Rescue Squad 15 responded on the run and arrived to find one auto versus a pick-up truck with no injuries.  The Squad crew checked for hazards and applied some absorbent to the fluid leaks.  Command 15 returned all units to service!

Box Alarm For the Hopper on Fire
June 30, 2010- Units from the Shippensburg Fire Department were alerted for the hopper bin on fire at Valley Quarries located at 24 W. Garfield St. in the borough of Shippensburg.  Engine 15-1 and 15-2 responded on the box.  Engine 15-1 arrived on the scene and laid out at the entrance to Valley Quarries.  Engine 15-1 reported they had fire showing from an escalated hopper bin located with the complex and was in the process of getting a line on it.  Truck 53 arrived and set up to use the elevated master stream.  Crews quickly knocked down the fire involving materials on the exterior of the hopper assembly and the truck crew overhauled by way of the Tower Ladder.  Crews remained on the scene mopping up before all units returned to service.

Brush Fire on McClays Mill Rd
June 30, 2010- Engine company 15, Brush 15, and Duty 15 responded on a local for a brush fire at 2616 McClays Mill Rd.  Duty 15 arrived to confirm a working brush fire.  Crews quickly contained the fast spreading fire.  Crews remained on the scene mopping up hot spots before being released by Duty 15.  Engine 15-1, Brush 15, and Duty 15 returned to service!
