| One Overturned with Entrapment
on the "S" Turns |
January 24, 2010-
Rescue Squad 15, along with Engine Co. 51, 52, and EMS,
responded to Shippensburg Rd, in the area of the "S" turns,
for an auto accident with entrapment. Engine Co. 51 and
Rescue Squad 15 arrived to find one auto overturned with
entrapment. The Squad crew immediately went to work
stabilizing the vehicle. They then performed a full roof
removal in order to extricate the patient. The patient was
extricated and care was transferred to EMS. Rescue Squad 15
returned to service once released by Command 51.
Take notice to the "old school" use of the chain and
com-a-long around the tree in order to stabilize the
vehicle. There are still uses for things of the past.
Remember, everyday is a training day in this job!
Great job on "Thinking Outside The Box"!
