| Auto Into a Building With a
Double Fatality! |

April 2, 2010-
At 1115 hours, Engine Company 53 and Rescue Squad 15, along
with EMS from 73 and Medic 84, were dispatched to the
intersection of Fayette St. and King St. for auto accident,
reported one auto into the building. Rescue Squad 15
arrived on the scene and reported they had one auto into the
building with collapse of the building on sides A and D in
Quadrant D and two occupants of the auto still entrapped
inside. Another medic unit and air medical was
immediately requested. A second Squad, Squad 41, was
also requested due to the severe collapse of the building.
The Squad crew in a safe yet quick manner stabilized the
auto and removed the roof only to find both occupants
deceased. While this was being undertaken, Command 4
also requested the Cumberland County Collapse task force
Engine Company 15 and 52 were also called to the scene to
assist. Units cleared the scene
and returned to service several hours later.

April 3, 2010-
The Shippensburg Fire Department and Shippensburg EMS held
their Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday! Thanks to
all who helped and attended!

| Room and Contents on
Greenvillage Rd |
|
April 8, 2010-
A Box Alarm was sounded for a reported house on fire at 5725
Greenvillage Rd in Greene Township. Engine Company 15,
Rescue Squad 15, and Chief 15 responded 1st due on the box.
Chief 15 was advised that the caller stated the house was
filling up with smoke and they were evacuating the
residence. Chief 15 requested a channel and
established Command 15. Due to the incident's close
proximity to Letterkenny Army Depot, engine company 13 was
the first arriving unit and reported a one story single
family woodframe house with smoke showing side A.
Engine company 13's crew quickly advanced an attack line and
found a room off. A quick knock down was made and
command 15 quickly placed all incoming units into level 1
staging. Upon confirmation of no extension, command 15
held the box to engine companies 15, 13, & Station 4, Truck
42, and Rescue Squad 15. Crews overhauled and
ventilated the structure before returning to service.

| MVA with Double Entrapment & One
Ejected |
|
April 22, 2010-
In the early morning hours under dense fog, Engine Company
51, Rescue Squad 15, and EMS were alerted for an auto
accident with ejection at the intersection of Enola Rd and
Three Square Hollow Rd in Hopewell Twp. Company 51
arrived on the scene and reported two vehicles off the
roadway, one overturned, with one ejected and two entrapped.
The Rescue Squad arrived and immediately went to work
stabilizing the vehicles and extricating the two trapped
victims. Along with the help of Company 51 personnel,
the two trapped victims were extricated quickly. Due
to the dense fog conditions, air medical was unable to fly
so, they were transported by ground to Hershey Med.
The driver of the pickup truck, who was ejected, was taken
by ground to Chambersburg Hospital and shortly thereafter
transported by ground to Hershey, due to the unavailability
of air medical because of weather conditions. The
Rescue Squad returned to service upon being released by
Command 51.

| Building Fire in Fannett
Township |
|
April 25, 2010-
At 1733 hours, the 12-03B box was struck for a building on
fire at 18728 Store Lane in Fannett Twp.. Engine 15-2
responded on the box. Engine company 12 arrived with
an out building fully involved. E15-2's crew arrived
and assisted with extinguishment and overhaul. Command
12 released Engine 15-2 at 1923 hours and they returned to
service.

| MVA at Roxbury Rd and Stonewall
Rd |
|
April 27, 2010-
At 1822 hours, Engine and Squad 15 along with EMS were
dispatched to Roxbury Rd and Stonewall Rd for an auto
accident. Company 15 arrived on the scene to find two
vehicles off the roadway with only minor injuries. EMS
handled the injured occupants with one patient transported
to Chambersburg Hospital. The Rescue Squad crew
assisted with packaging of the patient and the engine was
placed in service. Rescue Squad 15 returned to service
at 1837 hours.
