Rescue Squad As RIT, Twice!
April 1, 2009- At 0120 hrs., Rescue Squad 15 was alerted as the Rescue Squad on the RIT assignment for a house on fire at 194 Mt. Union Rd, Box 7-5.  Just 9 hours before this, at 1620 hrs on March 31st, Rescue Squad 15 responded to the same address on the RIT assignment.  First arriving units had heavy smoke showing from the roof and found fire running from the basement to the attic.  Crews put a quick knock on this fire and Squad 15 was cancelled before arrival.  This time, however, units arrived to find heavy fire through the roof and immediately began a defensive attack.  Squad 15's crew performed RIT tasks and stood bye on the scene for several hours before returning to service.

Water Rescue at Letterkenny Dam!
April 4, 2009- On the first day of trout season, Rescue Squad 15 was called to assist Co. 11 with a water rescue at Letterkenny Dam.  Due to high water levels and fierce winds, two boats became stranded on the breast of the dam.  Through combined efforts of the rescuers and fellow boaters on the lake, all 5 occupants were rescued unharmed.  Once a tow line was thrown to the one boat and secured, it was able to be towed away from the dam and taken to shore.  While the other boat's occupants had to be rescued via their PFD's attached to a life line, they then entered the water and were pulled to safety.  The boat was abandoned on the breast of the dam.  The Squad returned to service after being released by Command 11.  Thanks to Brian Denham for sending us these photos.
