2008 Fallen Firefighters Memorial
October 5, 2008- Once again this year, members of WEFR traveled to Emmitsburg, MD to participate in the 27th Annual Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend.  This year 110 of our fallen brothers and sisters were honored, 101 from 2007 and 9 from previous years.  Fire Chief Randy O'Donnell and Chief Crawford Wiestling assisted with the candle lighting in the Chapel on Saturday and were in attendance on Sunday.  FF Ryan Gochenauer acted as a family escort for one of the 110 families.  FF's Matt Martenas, Eric Jones, Anthony Diehl, and Ryan Elborne participated in honor guard activities for the weekend.  Finally, FF Paul White assisted with child care for the families on Saturday.  Thanks to all who sacrificed a weekend from their families to give a little something back to our fallen brothers and sisters families.
