Attic Fire at 29 N. Earl St.
January 3rd 2008-
Units responded to 29 N. Earl St. in the Boro of
Shippensburg for smoke coming from a house.
First arriving units reported smoke in the
attic. Upon further investigation, it was
determined to be an electrical fire in the attic
that had started to burn the rafters. A
quick knock down was made. Crews performed
some overhaul and returned to service.

EMT Class Extrication
January 5th 2008-
Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department and West
End Fire & Rescue combined efforts to assist
with PA Institute of Applied Health Sciences EMT
Class Extrication Session. Students were
given several scenarios throughout the day.
The instructors, Jeff Coombe and Ryan Elborne,
would like to thank everyone from all the
entities involved with the day.

Shed Fire at 91 E. Creek
Rd.
January 13th 2008-
Units were dispatched to 91 East Creek Rd. in
Hopewell Twp. for a shed fire. Crews found
a small fire in the ceiling of a storage shed.
Crews assisted Co. 51. Units then returned
to service.

MVA in the 200 Block of E.
Orange St.
January 13th 2008-
Units were dispatched to the 200 block of E.
Orange St in the boro of Shippensburg for a
reported auto accident with entrapment.
Units arrived to find one van into a utility
pole with two patients. Crew members from
Squad 15 assisted Co. 52 and EMS with removal of
the patient. Units then returned to
service.

Mobile Home Fire at 2350 Lindsay Lot Rd.
|
|
January
16th 2008-
At 0954 hrs, Box 15-3 was sounded for the report of a mobile
home on fire at 2350 Lindsay Lot Rd in Southampton Twp,
Franklin County. E15-1 & 15-2 responded with a total of 7
personnel. While enroute, A11-8, who was transferring to
Amb Co. 73, advised they were approx. 1/4 mile out with
heavy smoke showing. E15-1 A.O.S. with a working fire
impending on Exposure B. E15-1's crew advanced a hand line
through the front door and had the attack. E15-2's crew
advanced a hand line to back up E15-1, E52's crew covered
the exposure problem, and T53 vented. Crews worked together
to bring the fire under control quickly. |

MVA - Car Vs. Horse &
Buggy
January 20th 2008-
Units were dispatched for a reported MVA
involving a horse & buggy. Units A.O.S. to find
an auto vs. a horse & buggy off the roadway.
Units later cleared the scene and returned to
service.

Chimney Fire on Molly
Pitcher Hwy.
January 21st 2008-
At 1509 hrs, units were dispatched to 8093 Molly
Pitcher Hwy in Southampton Twp., Franklin County
for a reported chimney fire. E15-1 & 15-2
A.O.S. and confirmed a chimney fire with no
extension. With the assistance of Truck
53, crews were able to contain the fire to the
chimney. Units later cleared the scene and
returned to service.

Trash Truck on Fire on
Pine Stump Rd.
January 28th 2008-
At 0719 hrs, Engine Co. 15 was dispatched for a
trash truck on fire at the intersection of Pine
Stump Rd & Rice Rd in Greene Township.
While enroute, communications advised Asst.
Chief 15 that the trash truck's contents were on
fire and the driver had dumped the contents in
the roadway. Engine 15-1 A.O.S. to find
trash on fire in the roadway with no fire in the
garbage truck. Units extinguished the
trash fire. Units on the scene were E15-1,
15-2, Tanker 52, & A11. Company 15 & 7
fire police remained on the scene.

MVA at Intersection of
Orrstown Rd & Blind Lane.
January 29th 2008-
At
0655 hrs, Company 15 was dispatched for a MVA at
the intersection of Orrstown Rd & Blind Lane,
reported one overturned.
Arrived
to find two separate accidents, with no
injuries. Squad 15 checked for fluid leaks
and hazards. Units returned to service.

Garage Fire at 1219 Mountain Rd.
|
|
January 29th 2008-
Units were dispatched for a reported
garage fire at 1219 Mountain Rd in Upper
Mifflin Twp. Units A.O.S. with heavy
fire throughout a large garage. Squad 15
arrived and staged as the manpower
pool. Squad 15 returned to service.

Interstate 81 MVA involving Several Tractor Trailers
|
January 30th 2008-
Units
were dispatched to Interstate 81
Northbound, in the area of the 29 1/2
mile marker, for a reported MVA
involving several tractor trailers.
Units A.O.S. to find 5 tractor trailers
involved and the Interstate completely
blocked. Squad 15 extricated one
patient and controlled hazards.
Interstate 81 was shut down for several
hours until clean-up was complete.
Squad 15 returned to service.
