MVA at Possum Hollow Rd & Maxwell Dr.
April 3, 2008- At 1505 hrs, Co. 15 units were dispatched for a MVA in the area of Possum Hollow Rd & Maxwell Dr..  Co. 15 A.O.S. to find two vehicles involved with one into the fence.  Upon further investigation, no injuries were found and all hazards were contained.  All units returned to service.

MVA w/Entrapment
April 4, 2008- At 2119 hrs, Co. 15 units were dispatched for a multiple vehicle MVA with entrapment at the intersection of Orrstown Rd & Thornwood Rd.  Chief 15 A.O.S confirming dispatch with one trapped.  Air medical was requested upon arrival.  Chief 15 requested an engine from Cumberland County Co. 52 to handle the landing zone.  One patient was extricated and flown via life lion.  The second patient was transported via A73 and M101.  E15-2 and the Squad returned to service while E15-1 remained on the scene to provide lighting for PSP.

April 13, 2008- For the last two weeks,  Deputy Fire Chief Mark Cleck attended the National Fire Academy. DFC Cleck was completing the first of four years of classes for the Executive Fire Officer Program.  Congratulations Mark on completing the first segment and Good Luck with the remaining three!
 

 
Transfer Assignment
 
April 13, 2008- At 2237 hrs, Engine 15-2 transferred to Co. 17, New Franklin Fire Dept., while they operated at a barn fire on Alleman Rd in Co. 8's area.

Box Alarm for Smoke
 
April 15, 2008- At 0238 hrs, Co. 15 was dispatched on a box alarm to 15 E. Burd St. in the boro of Shippensburg for reported smoke.  E15-2 A.O.S., assumed the first due position, and reported a two story multifamily dwelling with nothing showing on Side A.  Upon investigation, E15-2 found food on the stove with no extension.  They quickly held the box to Co. 15 & Truck 53.  Thanks!  Stay Home, We Got It!

Condolences, our thoughts and prayers go out to the Reasner family and the members of Pleasant Hall Fire Department, PHFD, during their time of loss.  Craig Reasner, who was 38 years of age and a member of PHFD, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2008.

MVA on Rowe Run Rd.
 
April 16, 2008- At 1426 hrs, Squad 15 and Engine Co. 11 were dispatched to 8719 Rowe Run Rd for a reported single vehicle MVA.  While enroute, DFC 15 was advised that it was single vehicle accident involving a school van with no one on board other than the driver.  Squad 15 A.O.S. to confirm dispatch with one van into a garage.  Squad 15's crew stabilized the vehicle and assisted Co. 11's ambulance with removal of the patient.  Units returned to service.

Mountain/Building Fire
April 19, 2008- At 1223 hrs, E15-2 was dispatched to assist Cumberland County Co. 50 with a building and mountain fire at 150 Beetem Hollow Rd in Penn Twp.  E15-2 assisted with water supply and exposure protection.  Engine Co. 15 returned to service at 1605 hrs.

Auto Fire on Olde Scotland Rd.
 
April 20, 2008- At 1319 hrs, Co. 15 units were dispatched for a reported auto fire at the Exxon Station, 8256 Olde Scotland Rd, in Southampton Twp.  E15-1 & 15-2 responded along with Asst. Chief 15.  Units A.O.S. to find a Volkswagen Beetle well involved.  Crews placed in service an attack line and backup line.  Fire was quickly knocked down.  Units returned to service at 1357 hrs.

Training with Cumberland County Company 53.
April 24, 2008- On Thursday evening, Co. 15 & Co. 53 members drilled together on the use & flow of the ladder pipe, portable monitor nozzle, & rapid attack nozzle.  Crews also responded to an AFA at the Roxbury treatment center during the drill.
